Crucibles

Clay Graphite - These crucibles are designed for high frequency induction melting of brass, bronze, copper, aluminum and iron applications. In addition, selected crucible compositions are designed for use in the aluminum holding furnaces, and zinc applications.

Alumina / Fused Silica - Crucibles and ladle liners composed of alumina/fused silica offer long life, resistance to thermal shock, and provide high purity melts for steel and high alloys.
Silicon Carbide - The new "King Carb" crucible is an isopressed silicon carbide crucible that offers higher wall densities, higher thermal conductivity for quicker melt times, and a high resistance to corrosion and flux attack.

Ladle Bowls & Launders

These products are manufactured from carbon bonded silicon carbide for extended life. Featured characteristics are overall enhanced rigidity, minimal wetting, and fast response time. Available lengths range from 6" to 72" and pipe diameters are available in either ½" o.d . or ¾" o.d .
Clay graphite ladle bowls and launders are highly resistant to thermal shock and may be brought into contact with molten metal after a minimum amount of preheating. Metals and slags do not readily adhere to them, and frozen metal and skulls can be removed easily. Ladle bowls are available in four sizes and come supplied ready for fixing to a handle. Launders are available in three sizes and can be easily cut to length. They can be joined by means of a butt joint cemented to form longer lengths.
Accessories
Base blocks are available in silicon carbide with diameters from 6" o.d. to 32" o.d. and ranging in heights from 1" to 10". Canadian Thermix Inc. stocks the more popular sizes for use in fossil fuel and electric resistance furnaces.
